A few weeks have passed since the successful completion of the 5G-TACTIC Summer School on 5G Network Security in the beautiful city of Santander, making this the perfect opportunity to look back on a memorable event.

The Summer School brought together 25 participants from Poland, France, Sweden, Cyprus and Spain for three days of learning, knowledge exchange, networking and cultural activities.

Three days dedicated to 5G security

5G Core Network Security

The first day focused on the 5G Core Network and the approaches required to secure it, through two sessions delivered by Universidad de Cantabria. The day concluded with a boat trip around Santander Bay, followed by a tapas dinner.

Cloud-native MANO, NIS2 and O-RAN

The second day covered the security validation of cloud-native MANO, presented by PCSS, as well as NIS2 implementation and O-RAN certification, presented by DNSC. Participants also had the opportunity to experience Saint John’s Eve, known as Noche de San Juan, with a bonfire and festivities on the beach.

AI and machine learning for threat detection

The third day explored how artificial intelligence and machine learning can be applied to threat detection and mitigation in 5G networks. Participants were also introduced to the overall 5G-TACTIC security architecture, its design and its underlying principles.

The 7th 5G-TACTIC face-to-face meeting

The programme was completed alongside the 7th 5G-TACTIC face-to-face meeting, providing project partners with the opportunity to review progress, exchange insights and coordinate the next steps of the project.
